When licensing a dog, proof of rabies vaccination must be provided in order to receive your dog license. If you no longer have a dog previously licensed, please inform the clerk/treasurer (townofboscobel@gmail.com) so it can be removed.
AS PER ORDINANCE 2019-01, YOU MAY NOT OWN MORE THAN 5 DOGS. ANY KENNELS PREVIOUS TO 2019 MAY CONTINUE TO OBTAIN A KENNEL LICENSE, BUT NO NEW KENNELS WILL BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE IN THE TOWN.
ELECTIONS
The Town Hall serves as the designated polling place for all elections of town residents. For information about voting and registering to vote, visit http://www.myvote.wi.gov or contact the Clerk/Treasurer.
FIRE NUMBERS
A fire number identifies your residence in the Town of Boscobel. It is very important that these signs be posted as fire and EMT services rely on them. The Town will provide the original sign and post it on the entrance of the property, but if it needs to be replaced it will be your responsibility to do so at your cost. Make sure the sign is always legible.
GARBAGE/RECYLING
Town & Country Sanitation offers residential trash and recycling collection services to Town of Boscobel residents. They have provided all residential properties with 2 96 gallon wheeled containers for garbage (green lid) and recyclables (yellow lid) that makes it easy for curbside placement. Please see the following page for the 2025 collection dates.

Please call the Town & Country office at 608-375-5856 regarding items that are too large to fit into the container. A separate fee may apply.
If you have questions on what you can throw away or recycle, please visit their website at https://www.townandcountrysanitation.com/ for a detailed list.
The Town of Boscobel receives grant money annually from the Wisconsin DNR. The amount of the grant is based on the tonnage of recyclables we have collected. We can keep our costs down for taxpayers, if we can keep receiving this grant funding.
PUBLIC ROAD RIGHT OF WAY
By state law, the right of way is 33 feet from the center of the road. All fences, shrubs, trees, or any other structures, machinery, or miscellaneous items are required to be outside of this boundary. If you are replacing an existing fence, the new fence must follow the public road right of way rules.
ZONING REGULATIONS/ZONING PERMITS
The Town of Boscobel is zoned through Grant County . This means that you need a permit if you plan on building or adding to an existing structure, moving in a mobile home, or setting up a hunting cabin. This includes all new ag and commercial construction. You can obtain a permit by contacting the Grant County Zoning Office in Lancaster. 608-723-6377
